Maryland History Day 2008 Special Prize
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:  Remembrance and Reconciliation

As part of Maryland History Day 2007-2008, middle and high school students throughout Maryland are invited to develop History Day projects under the national theme "Conflict and Compromise in History" focusing on topics that address the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., the Civil Rights movement, and race relations.

At the Maryland History Day state contest awards ceremony on April 26, 2008, outstanding projects addressing these topics will be awarded the Martin Luther King, Jr.: Remembrance and Reconciliation Special Prize.  Winners will receive cash prizes and plaques and will be recognized at public events that are part of the Maryland Humanities Council’s special initiative Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: Remembrance and Reconciliation.
