OFF WITH HER HEAD: THE SIX WIVES OF HENRY VIII

Henry VII divorced his first and fourth wives, beheaded his second and fifth. His third wife died in childbirth. Henry VII's infamous way with women reflected the wholesale decline of a Renaissance man par excellence. In this presentation, Dr. Anne-Marie Drew recounts tales of palace intrigue and romance touching Great Harry and his wives. Adult and high school audiences.

Anne-Marie Drew is Chair of the English Department at the United States Naval Academy where, for ten years, she directed Masqueraders, the Academy’s theatre group. With a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, Dr. Drew is the author of several books, including her most recent, Letters from Annapolis: The Midshipmen Write Home. A frequent speaker at community events, Drew has also delivered speeches abroad, most recently at the Globe Theatre in London.
