"They Have Killed Papa Dead!" - The Road to Ford's Theatre, Abraham Lincoln's Murder, and the Rage for Vengeance

Anthony S. Pitch took nine years to research and write what he calls "the saddest story in American history, the assassination of Abraham Lincoln," a story he has told inside Ford's Theatre. Audiences will feel like eyewitnesses to vivid events, beginning with plots on the President-elect's life, assembling the conspirators, the daring assassination, the hunt for the assassin, and the capture, captivity and torture of most of the accused, their trial, hangings, and the unseemly scramble for reward money. The Chicago Sun-Times raved: "If not the definitive story of the assassination and the events before and after, then the one that readers should turn to first." High school and adult audiences.
