Are you looking for a poetry writing workshop that goes beyond the basics? If so, the 5th L’s Identity Workshop is perfect for you! By helping participants to sketch out a detailed portrait of themselves in their own words, this workshop ultimately unveils a new sense of self-awareness. Using creative writing exercises, open floor discussion, and idea sharing, The 5th L show how poetry can serve as a catalyst for effective communication with peers and family. Participants will also be given an exercise that they can take with them and implement in their homes.

Described as “super heroes with a hip-hop beat and poet’s tongue” by Urbanite magazine, Native Son (David Ross) and The Dri Fish (Femi Lawal) are The 5th L, an alternative hip hop performance poetry group who masterfully infuse the four elements of hip-hop with a blend of spoken word poetry and theater known as Phonetic Artistry.
