BINDING SPINES: A BOOKMAKING PROJECT

Looking to explore your creative side by combining writing with arts and crafts? Join in the fun, and make your own book of poems with poet Mary Azrael. Participants in this hands-on workshop will learn to make their own personal book from a variety of very simple and beautiful structures such as accordion fold, stab binding, and hidden books. Come write a poem and leave with a hand-crafted book!

Mary Azrael is the author of three books of poems and the libretto for an opera, performed this summer in Tel Aviv. Her poems have appeared in many literary journals. She has taught writing in several Maryland colleges and was a Maryland State Arts Council Poet in the Schools for 25 years.
