Yoga and Writing: Stretching Your Mind and Body

Our stories often lie hidden not just in our mind's memories, but in our muscles, glands, guts, and breath.  Yoga can show us pathways into feelings, memories, stories and images deep within our bodies.  In this unique workshop, poet and yoga instructor Yael Flusberg blends yoga with a variety of writing exercises. Wear comfortable clothes, bring a mat and your favorite notebook and pen, and get ready to stretch your mind and your body!

Yael Flusberg's memoir essays, poetry and reviews have been published in anthologies and journals including America: What's My Name?, DC Poets Against the War: An Anthology, Lilith, the Potomac Review, Sojourners, and Travelers' Tales, among others. She recently completed her first poetry collection, Stones Left on Graves.  She has twice been awarded grants from the DC Commission on Arts & Humanities, has been with a poet-in-residence at St. Mary's College of Maryland, is a member of the Macondo Writers Workshop, and the International Women's Writers Guild.  Yael is a co-founder of Sol & Soul, a nonprofit which nurtures and promotes emerging and seasoned artists of conscience.
