• TeachingHistory.org: This national educational clearinghouse, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, offers resources and materials for K-12 history teachers.

• War of 1812 Resources for Teachers: Maryland's War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission, Star-Spangled 200, has put together a list of lesson plans, links and assessments related to the upcoming Bicentennial.
• Civil War Lesson Center: The Civil War Trust, a nationwide preservation agency, has developed a comprehensive website for teachers including Civil War lesson plans, PowerPoints and assessments for elementary-high school students.
• Teaching Teachers the Power of Place: Developed by the National Park Service's Teaching with Historic Places
• Building Great History Day Websites: This extensive presentation developed by Chicago History Fair presents a detailed look at winning History Day websites.
