Poets' Corner Application Form
Poets' Corner, invites museums, libraries, schools, historic sites, cultural institutions, after school programs, recreation centers, and other nonprofit groups to apply to host a poetry workshop.
The Maryland Humanities Council will
- schedule an appearance at a mutually convenient time for the host and speaker
- pay honorarium and travel expenses for poets
- rovide a press packet, with a sample press release, contacts, MHC logo, and posters that can be customized for each location.
The Hosting Organization will
- Develop a program that is free and open to the public and encourages audience participation
- Work with one or more partner organizations (such as museums, libraries, schools, historic sites, cultural institutions, civic organizations, book clubs, writers’ groups, and other nonprofit organizations)
- Attract an audience of 35 or more people
- Hold the event in a handicapped accessible location
- Collaborate with the Maryland Humanities Council to obtain media coverage of the event
- Submit evaluation and cost share reports to the Maryland Humanities Council
