Community Conversations

Let's talk about it! Facilitated discussions that encourage groups to tackle tough issues using humanities materials to spark discussion.

Our lives are grounded in our communities. The chorus of voices, perspectives, and opinions that make each city, town, and neighborhood unique also bring unique challenges and opportunities for discord.

Questions worth exploring:

  • What tough issue is your community facing?
  • How does it affect you as individuals?
  • As neighbors? As a community?

Community Conversations are facilitated discussions that encourage groups to tackle tough issues using humanities materials to spark discussion.

Through this FREE program, MHC will provide your organization with:

  • Humanities-based readings, film clips, or recordings
  • Trained facilitators to lead the discussion
  • Web-based tools so participants can continue the conversation

Community Conversations are currently being organized around MHC’s special initiative, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: Remembrance and Reconciliation. Through this initiative, MHC encourages Marylanders to explore, discuss, and confront issues relating to race.

Contact Lydia Woods at 410-685-0303 or Email Lydia to organize a discussion in your community.

Or, fill out the form "I'm interested in having a Community Conversation. Please contact me." and MHC will contact you.
