The Baltimore Urban Debate League (BUDL) and MHC have partnered to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a special event, “Spaghetti Dinner and Debate.” The event is open to the public, and guests will have the opportunity to learn how to debate during dinner from some of BUDL’s high school debaters. Local civil rights experts John Wood of McDonogh School and Reverend Sheridan Todd Yeary of Douglas Memorial Community Church, along with Towson University debaters Dayvon Love and Deverick Murray, will discuss some of MLK’s most powerful speeches. "Most Daring Dream" features more than 50 images of what some scholars see as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s final and most ambitious vision. This lecture explores details of architectural structure and decoration, which help to provide cultural context and historical understanding of the early conquests of Islam, Spain in the time of the Maimonides, the Crucades, the fall of Byzantium, and the Christian reconquest of Spain, ending in 1492.

Living history figures “TR” and “Honest Abe,” portrayed by scholar/actors Doug Mishler and Jim Getty, will discuss the American Presidency from their perspective and answer questions from the audience.
