Maryland History Day is Six Months Away!
We are just six short months away from Maryland History Day 2011, which will take place on Saturday, April 30 at UMBC. We have just completed a thorough update of our Web site and urge all History Day fans out there to take a look.
Of particular interest to Students may be our Resources page and Sample Projects page. You will find a list of recommended research source–both online and in person–as well as several guides to creating an annotated bibliography (one of the most challenging parts of most students’ History Day experience!). The sample projects, selected from this year’s Maryland advancers to National History Day, give a great sense of what is expected from a high-quality project.
Teachers will find helpful information on the Annual Theme page, which includes sample topic lists and classroom presentation tools related to this year’s theme, Debate & Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures and Consequences. Parents (as well as Judges) can read important information specific to their own unique needs.
Don’t forget to become a fan of Maryland History Day on Facebook as well!
And for your enjoyment, below is a video to help introduce and instruct our History Day folks about what it means to be in involved!
