Maryland History Day…It’s a family affair.
Larry Nowicki, manager of Regulatory Compliance at Columbia Gas of Maryland blogs about why he volunteers at Maryland History Day.
“Several years ago I had the opportunity to participate as a judge at Maryland History Day in Baltimore. This brought back many fond memories of my daughter working on projects for the competition.
Having now judged the event many times, I find it very rewarding to see the extensive research that these young students do on a wide range of historical topics and their ability to perform and entertain at such a high level. These are only a few of the reasons that I continue judging this event.
Not only have I enjoyed this, but I’ve been able to make this a family event. My wife has been judging now for the past three years. If you have not done so already, I encourage you to take some time to help out at the event. It will be an educational experience for you, while also supporting our future generation.”
